Only fits canoes with very thick gunwale lips like Old Town with vinyl gunwales ( thickness 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches  and width  1 1/2 inches to 2 1/4").  No need to measure for Old Town -- it will fit.  Also Mad River models that have rectangular black vinyl gunwales. 

 Recommended only for trolling motors.

The "2.0" designation is meant to convey that this is a much better one-side-clamping motor mount than the one that used to be on the market called "Side Saddle."   Stronger, more durable, better made, and more versatile in that it allows a vertical-block mode in addition to the two angled modes.  You will be impressed with the build quality!

 People have adapted it to other canoes with home-made blocking or shims added to other canoes, but we cannot advise you on this. If you have an Old Town or similar canoe, this is a great solution. 

Some people say it is okay for gas motors up to 3 HP but we are not sure -- so you put a gas burner on it at your own risk!  We will be interested in user feedback on this.
