Add on canoe seat lets you add a spot for a third passenger.  Or, when you are canoeing solo, it lets you put your own weight farther forward than the stern seat for better weight distribution to keep the bow on the water.  As an added bonus, this canoe seat accepts a variety of accessories we offer on SailboatsToGo.com, such as slip-on wheels, rowing outriggers, pontoon outriggers or leeboards (these accessories are not included but are available).   But it's a great seat even if you never use it with accessories.
Adjusts to fit the canoe at the place where you want it.   Works with all different types of gunwales.  Clamps tight with no tools.  Remove or reposition in seconds.   Resilient foam seat.  Stainless steel hardware.  Anodized aluminum tubing.   Details:  seat pad is 8 x 14 inches.  Seat frame width adjusts to fit canoes as narrow as 22 inches or as wide as 38 inches (inside measurement).  Version for wider canoes available on request -- just message us.  Weight is about 10 pounds.
On most canoes, the gunwale lip is on the inside.  But some only have a good lip for clamping on the outside.  If your canoe only has an outside lip suitable for clamps, then the maximum width the seat could span in your canoe would be 34 inches (inside to inside)  unless you request a wider seat (which we are happy to provide).  The reason for this is the seat side pieces have to stick out 2 inches beyond the canoe on each side if your are clamping to an outside lip.
  The seat height is 2 inches below the top edge of the canoe. Very, very strong. We don't have a tested weight capacity, but this is probably the strongest seat on the market.
